Every mile posted, every entry kept, MILE
Mohsinmirza LLC keeps the books of small professional, scientific and technical services firms with the same steadiness a canal keeper marks the miles along the towpath. Our ledger office sits at 511 Canal Rd, Mount Sinai - 11766-3301, United States (US), where a book is opened in the morning and settled before the bridge closes. We are not a boat yard and we are not a marine works; we are the quiet account room beside the water, and you can read the six services we keep here →
A brass distance dial beside the book, turned at each settled account.
The six entries in our way-book
A way-book is what a keeper carries along the towpath: one ruled page for every task that must not slip. Mohsinmirza LLC keeps six such pages for the firms we serve, and each page is worked to the same standard whether the client is a single scientific consultant or a growing systems design shop with staff on payroll. The ladder below sets them out in the order a working month tends to reach them. Every service name links to a fuller account on our services page.

Ledger Keeping
Ledger Keeping is the spine of everything else we do. We open a clean chart of accounts for your firm, post the daily and weekly entries as they arrive, and keep each line where a reviewer can find it without hunting. Computer integrated systems design work moves quickly, and a ledger left three weeks behind stops being a record and becomes a puzzle.
We post against plain categories your accountant will recognise, reconcile the running balance as we go, and leave a short note beside anything that needs your decision. Read more about Ledger Keeping →

Invoicing and Receipts
Money that is owed is not money you can spend, so we raise your invoices on a fixed rhythm and chase each receipt into the file the same week it lands. Retainers, hours against a statement of work and one-off project fees are each handled the way your contract describes them.
Every invoice carries a number, a date and a reference, and every receipt is matched to it so a bank line never floats free. Read more about Invoicing and Receipts →

Account Reconciliation
Reconciliation is the moment the book and the bank agree, and we treat disagreement as information rather than as a failure. Each month we line up every statement against the ledger, flag the small gaps, and work them down to zero before the month is called closed.
We keep a short written trail for each cleared item so that a later question has an answer that does not depend on memory. Read more about Account Reconciliation →

Payroll Stewardship
Payroll Stewardship covers the regular, careful work of paying people correctly and on time. We prepare the run, check hours and rates against your records, and keep the supporting detail in order so that every payslip can be explained.
Where your firm works with an outside payroll provider we prepare and hand over a clean schedule rather than a pile of notes. Read more about Payroll Stewardship →

Quarterly Summaries
Quarterly Summaries turn three months of entries into one readable statement of where the firm stands. We fold the quarter, compare it with the last, and write a plain summary of income, outgoings and what remains, in language a partner or a lender can use without translation.
A quarter summary is not an audit and we never present it as one, but it is honest, current and easy to follow. Read more about Quarterly Summaries →

Records Archiving
Records Archiving keeps the past where the present can reach it. We label, index and store your ledgers, receipts, payroll schedules and summaries in a fixed order, so a document asked for in year four is found in minutes rather than boxes.
We follow a retention plan agreed with you, hold everything in a form your own adviser can read, and hand the record back in full whenever you ask. Read more about Records Archiving →
Mohsinmirza LLC opens its winter ledger reviews for small professional, scientific and technical services firms along the north shore, and a place in the book is kept first come, first posted.
Why a milepost ledger suits a working firm
A milepost does one thing and does it exactly: it tells the traveller how far the ground has been carried and how far remains. A ledger kept to that standard tells a firm the same thing about its money. Mohsinmirza LLC was built around that single idea, and every habit in our account room follows from it. We post on time, we call a line by a name you will still recognise a year later, and we leave the book so clear that someone who has never met us can pick it up and continue.
Firms in computer systems design and related professional services do not sit still. A client signs, a scope widens, a subcontractor joins for one quarter and leaves. Each of those events is a posting, and each posting is easier to make while the paper is still warm. We would rather take an hour on Wednesday than leave a reconciliation to unknot a month later, and our clients tend to feel that difference in the quietest way possible: nothing is ever lost and nothing is ever a surprise.
The work is deliberately plain. We keep the six services because those are the six tasks that keep a small firm honest and solvent, and we would rather do six things thoroughly than offer twenty things shallowly. If you already have an adviser for tax or for audit, we are happy to sit beside them and keep the underlying record straight, because a good record makes every other professional in your life more useful.
What a month looks like
The month begins with the ledger, moves through invoices and receipts, settles at reconciliation, and is summarised when the quarter closes. Records are archived continuously rather than in a panic at year end. This rhythm is published in advance so that you always know which page of the way-book your firm is on, and so that a question sent on any morning reaches the right part of the desk.
Nothing in that rhythm needs your standing attention. We ask for decisions only where a decision is genuinely yours to make, and we ask in writing, with the reasoning attached, so that the answer is a short one.
The desk at 511 Canal Rd
Our account room sits at 511 Canal Rd, Mount Sinai - 11766-3301, United States (US), close enough to the water that the towpath walk to the office is part of the working day. The address is kept exactly as it reads here, and post, email and telephone all reach the same small desk.
You can write to billing@mohsinmirza.buzz or call +16075772165. We answer in the order the post arrives and we say honestly how long a piece of work will take before we begin it.
Who we keep the book for
Our clients are the firms that make the modern economy legible: system integrators, technical consultancies, design and research shops, and the small scientific practices that sit alongside them. What these firms share is a need for a record that is accurate without being elaborate, and a partner who treats a deadline as a promise. That is the whole of our offer, and it is enough.
Computer systems design and integration
Integration work brings invoices against milestones, subcontractor payments and software subscriptions that all land in different weeks. We keep those streams separate but comparable, so that the margin on a project is visible while the project is still running rather than after it has ended.
Professional and technical consulting
For consultancies, the ledger is mostly a record of time. We post hours against engagements, match them to the invoices they produce, and reconcile the result monthly so that a slow month is seen in the month it happens.
Scientific and design practices
Smaller practices often carry a large share of their cost in equipment and in the people who use it. We keep those costs posted and summarised so that the quarterly picture reflects reality rather than the balance in the current account alone.
A single page for every task
Six services, six ruled pages, one book. Everything we do for you is written under one of those headings, so that you always know where to look and we always know where to write. When a firm grows, the book grows with it rather than being replaced.

Mohsinmirza LLC is an account keeping practice. We are not a law firm, not a tax return preparer of record and not an auditor, and we say so plainly so that you always know which professional to call for which question.
How a firm joins the book
Joining is a short, orderly walk. First we talk, usually by telephone or by email, about what your firm does and what your current records look like. Second, we agree the six pages that apply to you and the rhythm of the month, in writing. Third, we open the way-book, post the opening position, and reconcile it with your bank so that both of us begin from a figure we trust. From that point the work is simply the work.
There is no long engagement and no jargon in the agreement. You may pause or end the service at the end of any month, and when you do we hand the whole record back to you in a form your own adviser can read. That courtesy is not a favour; it is the point of keeping a book honestly in another firm keeping.
If you would like to see whether your firm belongs in the book, the quickest route is a short message describing the shape of your month. We will tell you plainly whether our six services fit, and if they do not, we will say so and point you toward what you actually need. An account room that takes work it cannot do well is no use to anyone, and the towpath has no room for a milepost that lies.
